Certifications & Compliance
Tested to EU, US and Australian Eyewear Standards
Every quotation states which standards apply to the models you are buying and which documents come with the order. Below is what is already on file, and how to obtain the copies your market requires.
Questions
What buyers ask about certification
The compliance questions that decide whether we are the right supplier.
What certifications do you hold?
CE to EN ISO 12312-1:2022 under PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, listed by model code. EN ISO 18527-1:2022 for ski and snowboard goggles. FDA 21 CFR 801.410 impact testing for the US. ANSI Z80.3:2018 and AS/NZS 1067.1:2016 lens reports. Material safety through SGS.
Do you hold ANSI Z87.1 or ASTM F3164-24?
No. Neither. ANSI Z80.3, which we do hold, is a lens standard — it is not the same as Z87.1, which covers occupational eye and face protection. If your channel requires Z87.1 or ASTM F3164-24, we are not the right supplier, and it is better to know that here.
Which laboratory does the testing?
Intertek for the third-party reports, and SGS for material safety. The reports name the model codes they cover.
Is the UV400 claim tested?
Yes. UV400 transmission is measured rather than asserted, and the figure appears on the test documentation for the covered models.
Does one certificate cover the whole range?
No. CE coverage is model specific — fifteen models are listed at present. A model outside that list has no certificate until it is tested, and we will say so rather than imply otherwise.
Can I see a report before ordering?
Yes. Tell us the model codes you are considering and we will send the documents that cover them, with the covered model list included so you can check the scope yourself.
Is your documentation enough for EU customs?
The CE certificate of conformity under PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 is the document EU authorities expect. The declaration lists the covered model codes, which is what a customs officer checks against the shipment.
What do you need from me to confirm compliance for my market?
The destination market and the model codes. The required standard differs by country — CE for the EU, FDA and ANSI Z80.3 for the US, AS/NZS 1067.1 for Australia and New Zealand — and we will tell you which of our documents apply.
Documentation on File
Certificates, Reports and Registrations
These are the documents our manufacturing partner currently holds. We only quote a standard for a product when we can attach the document that covers it.
CE Certificate of Conformity
PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, tested to EN ISO 12312-1:2022. Certificate no. UTT202503833C, issued 31 March 2025. The certificate names 15 covered models from our range: KC04-09, KC04-11, KC05-12, KC06-13A, KC07-15A, KC07-15K, KC08-16K, JDS2004Y028, JDS2037Y037, JDS2152Y134, JDS2149Y131, JDS2156Y143, JDS2131Y160, KN15-22 and KN11-19.
Ski & snowboard goggles — EN ISO 18527-1:2022
Intertek test report no. SZHH01838158, dated 15 September 2023. Six pairs of ski goggles tested to EN ISO 18527-1:2022 — the European standard for downhill skiing and snowboarding goggles — with a pass result. Clause 4.1 (physiological compatibility) was excluded from the test scope and is not claimed. The report is issued to the manufacturing partner that produces these models. Full report supplied with your quotation on request.
Third-party laboratory report
Intertek test report no. SHAH01729242 (30 August 2024) for sunglasses to EN ISO 12312-1:2013+A1:2015, with UV400 performance noted for the submitted sample.
US market — impact resistance
For US-bound orders, lenses are supplied impact-resistant to 21 CFR 801.410. The document that covers your model and lens type is sent with the quotation on request.
ANSI Z80.3 — US lens standard
Lens transmittance, colour-limit and traffic-signal testing carried out on TAC and PC lens types. The dated test report is available on request.
Certificates and test reports are issued to the manufacturing partner that legally manufactures the goods. We only quote a standard for a product when we can attach the document that covers it — ask us and we will send the report with your quotation.
AS/NZS 1067.1:2016
Australian and New Zealand lens category testing on the same TAC and PC lens samples, confirming lens category and UV performance.
Material safety — SGS
Nylon lens material tested by SGS to 21 CFR 177.1500 (maximum extractable fraction) with PASS results for all four simulants.
Lens Categories
What the Numbers Mean for Your Market
Lens category is the single most misunderstood detail in sunglasses compliance. These are the tested values from our own reports.
| Category / property | What it means | Evidence on file |
|---|---|---|
| Category 2 | 18–43% light transmission. General purpose, moderate sunlight. Tested PC lens sample: 21.12% — PASS. | |
| Category 3 | 8–18% light transmission. Strong sunlight, water and snow. Tested TAC lens sample (ice blue): 9.09% — PASS. | |
| UV400 | Blocks at least 99% of UVA and UVB. Confirmed in the laboratory reports on file. | |
| Not for night driving | All three standards state that sunglasses are not suitable for driving in twilight or at night. Our reports record the same result. |
Lens category depends on the tint you order, not only on the model. Tell us the colour and the market, and we will confirm the category that applies.

- Certificates and reports are issued to the manufacturing partner that legally manufactures the goods; the holder’s details appear on every copy we send you.
- We do not claim a standard for a product unless we can attach the covering document.
- Tell us the destination market (EU / US / UK / Australia-NZ) and we confirm the applicable documents before you order.
- If your customer requires a test we do not hold, we can arrange third-party testing at cost.
